Firestation

building
Description

A shortage of a Fire Station in the township of Alexandra was realized when multiple fire outbreaks occur regularly each year. This Fire Station acts both as an iconic building and an emergency management service building for the area in which it dwells. Contrasting face brick façades provide for a maintenance-free yet aesthetically pleasing design. The design layout was influenced by its position in relation to the street frontage and practicality. Raised clear windows allow for filtered daylight along internal passages and spaces maintaining a connection with the exterior elements.
